Industry-Rice Earth Science Symposia (IRESS) - "A Taste of Rice Earth Science"

We invite you to the first of a series of activities leading to our first annual Industry Rice Earth Science Symposium, IRESS 1 (http://iress.rice.edu/), scheduled for January 22 - 23, 2014. On September 27, we'll preview IRESS 1 and present a sampler of Rice Earth Science. Four of our faculty members will give brief overviews of their research activities:

André Droxler: Flourishing Carbonates in the Midst of Siliclastics, during the Last Glacial:Interglacial Cycle and As Far Back as the Cambrian
Brandon Dugan: Geofluids and Geomechanics at Rice University
Alan Levander: The Lithosphere of Northern South America
Jeff Nittrouer: New Insights on Fluvial:Deltaic Sedimentology: Informing Science and Society

After the talks, at about 5 PM, we will adjourn to the Geology Patio for refreshments and to view posters from our graduate students.

Parking lots will be open since this corresponds to family day at Rice. Look forward to having you join us!
